The Hubballi division of South Western Railway started a month-long special cleanliness drive from May 25. The main objective of this drive is to bring about visible improvement in cleanliness at railway stations. To facilitate this, the division plans to intensify use of mechanised equipment for cleaning, motivate safai karmacharis, and hold interactions with passengers to create awareness on cleanliness.
As a part of this drive, additional divisional railway manager R C Punetha interacted with passengers at the Hubballi railway station on Wednesday. He addressed the safai karmacharis and said all the necessary equipment for cleaning has been provided.
He appealed to the cleaning staff to maintain cleanliness at the station and advised them to educate passengers on maintaining cleanliness at the station.
The cleaning staff presented a skit to create awareness on cleanliness amongst passengers. Video clips and announcements on promoting cleanliness are also being played in the railway station. Read More
