The Central Railway will observe a ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa – Pakhwada’ from September 15 to October 2. The Western Railway is also observing a cleanliness campaign during same period.
“The objective is to ensure cleanliness in trains, platforms, station area and also in railway premises/offices. We will have 100% participation from every railway staff in the 18 day cleanliness drive,” said CR chief spokesperson Sunil Udasi. The campaign will culminate on October 2, which is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi who had spread the message of cleanliness in surroundings, neighbourhood and in all areas possible.
“We are inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and will ensure that every nook and corner of railways is kept clean,” said a senior official.
CR general manager D K Sharma will administer the Swachhta Pledge to officers and staff at CR Headquarters, CSMT today, Udasi said. Read More
