The Ministry of Railways and Braithwaite & Company Limited (BCL), a CPSE under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The main business of BCL is the manufacture of new cars, the repair of wagons, the manufacture of steel structures and the manufacture of cranes.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed today, May 23, 2018, by the Railway Board Secretary, Shri Ranjanesh Sahai, and BCL, Chairman and Managing Director (Additional Charge) and Director (Finance), Shri PP Bose. The MoU set targets for 18-19, both financial and physical. In accordance with the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding, the BCL has forecast revenues of INR 285 crores and the production of automobiles INR 1300 crores.
The national transporter has also signed another MoU with the RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RCIL), a CPSE under the ministry, for the implementation of several rail projects for doubling of lines, new lines, electrification etc.
The RCIL has projected revenues of Rs 1,200 crore from operations and set several other targets regarding CCTV cameras and wi-fi at stations and development of content on demand (CoD) services on trains. Read More
