The Central Railways announced a mega block on Central and Western Lines in Mumbai on Sunday, October 8. To avoid inconvenience to the passengers, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has released the schedule of changes in the operations of the local trains. Reportedly, the local train services on the Up and Down fast line and Up and Down slow line will be affected due to the block.
On the Central Line, Up fast trains leaving from Kalyan will be diverted to the Up slow line between Kalyan and Thane stations between 11 am to 4.21 pm. These trains will further be re-diverted to the Up fast line between Thane and CSMT and will halt at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Dadar and Byculla stations. During the block, these trains will run 20 minutes behind their schedule.
From 10.08 am to 2.42 pm, fast trains leaving from CSMT will stop at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations and also at their respective scheduled halts. The trains will run 15-20 minutes late due to the block.
Down trains leaving CSMT to Vashi/Belapur/Panvel stations will remain suspended between 11.34 am to 4.47 pm. Similarly, down train services to Bandra/Andheri leaving CSMT will remain affected from 9.56 am to 4.43 pm.
Between 9.53 am to 3.20 pm, Up harbour trains from Panvel/Belapur/Vashi to CSMT will be suspended. Trains leaving from Bandra/Andheri to CSMT between 10.45 am to 5.09 pm will also remain suspended.
Harbour line passengers can travel through special trains services between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No 8). They can also travel from the Main line and Western line during the block period from 10 am to 6 pm.
