Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday reached New Delhi on a week-long official visit during which he is scheduled to meet President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union ministers.
It is Naveen’s first visit to the national capital after assuming charge as chief minister of Odisha for the fifth consecutive term.
“I will be meeting PM Modi regarding mainly the damage done by Cyclone Fani and the funds the Centre can give us for that. Also, I have an appointment with the President. I will be attending the Niti Aayog meeting,” Naveen told reporters after reaching New Delhi.
Official sources in the chief minister’s office said Naveen would meet the Prime Minister on Tuesday. Thereafter, he would call on the President at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
