NB Gupta has taken over as finance director in Power Finance Corporation (PFC), the company said in a statement.
Gupta has more than 30 years of experience in power sector and carries with him rich experience in the fields of fund raising, international finance, internal audit and accounts finalisation etc.
A Chartered Accountant by training, Gupta joined PFC in September 2005, and worked in various capacities in disbursements unit, fund management, resource mobilisation and public issues.
Prior to his elevation, Gupta has been working as executive director-finance in the company.
PFC is India’s largest power sector lender.
It reported a Rs. 1,428.59 crore net profit for the first quarter of the financial year 2017-2018, 16 per cent lower than the Rs. 1,712.55 crore net profit reported by the company in the corresponding period of the last financial year.
The total income fell to Rs 6,931 crore for the quarter under consideration from Rs 7,158 crore during the same quarter of the last fiscal.
