Telangana Genco chairman and managing director D Prabhakar Rao on Thursday said major thermal power plants, which will generate over 5,800 MW, will be commissioned in a phased manner in the next couple of years.
“Work on the power plants, being executed at a cost of Rs 40,000 crore, is progressing at a brisk pace after getting environmental clearances from the ministry of environment and forest (MoEF).
The government is complying with all norms without compromising on any issue though there will be a financial burden on the state exchequer,” Rao, who is also CMD of Trnasco, said.
The Transco and Genco CMD held a review meeting with representatives of BHEL, which is executing the projects, on the progress of works. Read More
