Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday said that there has been no coal mining activity after the interim ban was imposed by the National Green Tribunal on April 2014.
“As per the information available with the Government, no mining has been done every since the NGT has put a ban in 2014,” he told reporters.
However, he accused the opposition Congress for making unnecessary statements against the ruling coalition government.
“They (Congress) should realise that the present government is trying to resolve the situation which they have created when they were in power.
We have moved to the Supreme Court and Government of India to resolve this long pending issue. Read More
