The Northern Railways has launched dedicated counters at the New Delhi Railway station junction and the Hazrat Nizamuddin stations in the national capital for receiving corruption-related complaints. Passengers will also be able to give opinion survey feedback on their perception of the services being provided by the Railways.
The decision was taken on the last day of the vigilance awareness week on Saturday. The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) which observes the annual Vigilance Awareness Week had requested all the Central Government ministries and organisations to conduct activities around the theme for this year- ‘Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India’.
The Railways had been asked to hold activities within their organisation as well as take part in outreach activities for the public. In its report in April, the CVC said that major complaints of corruption had been received for Railways as well as by government banks. Read more
