The oil ministry has asked state-run oil refiners and fuel marketing companies to furnish exhaustive personal details, including Aadhaar and the linked bank accounts, of drivers of tankers contracted by them with the aim of improving their prospects in the job market through certification.
The details are being collected under the Recognition Prior Learning (RPL) initiative, a key component of PM Modi’s programme to develop skill and entrepreneurship by assessing and certifying individuals with skills or prior experience.
