The exploration giant ONGC TripuraAsset today ruled out any plan of shifting its forward baseoffice from the state to Assam.
The management has decided to further expand the activities in the state. Refuting the recent media report regarding shifting of ONGCbase office to Cachar in South Assam, an ONGC release said it will employ additionalresources to take care of thrust in exploration activities in Tripura. “Presently, ONGC is deploying three drilling rigs exclusively for drilling operations in eastern part of Tripura i.e. Khubal, Manu and Dhalai areas, and additionally a work station has already beenestablished in Agartala, ” it said adding, ” In ONGC set up, a basin isresponsible for exploration activities to find more oil & gas reserves,while an asset takes care of producing from the oil /gas reservoirs. ”
The exploration activities in the entire northeast are beingmonitored by Assam and Assam Arakkan Basin operating from Jorhat through fourforward base offices situated at Nazira, Agartala, Jorhat and Cachar. Read More…
