State-run oil marketing companies on Tuesday (August 13) refrained from changing the retail prices of petrol and diesel across the country. In national capital Delhi, a litre of petrol today costs 71.99 a litre while diesel costs Rs 65.43 per litre, no change compared with Monday’s price.
It is worth noting that the pump fuel prices are the cheapest in Delhi among all metros and most state capitals due to lower taxes. On Monday, following the daily revision in retail fuel rates, diesel rates were lowered by 6 paise while petrol prices remained stagnant across four metropolitan cities in the country.
In Mumbai, citizens have to shell out Rs 77.65 for a litre of petrol while diesel costs Rs 68.60 per litre, as per data available with Indian Oil Corp website.
