Following the daily revision in retail fuel prices, petrol and diesel prices fell for the sixth successive day across four metro cities in the country on Tuesday (June 4). Petrol prices in all the metro cities lowered by 7 paise per litre while diesel became cheaper by 20-21 paise.
Petrol rates were slashed in New Delhi by 7 paise to Rs 71.23 a litre on Tuesday as against Rs 71.30 on Monday. Diesel in the national capital became cheaper by 20 paise to Rs 65.56 as compared with Rs 65.76 yesterday’s price.
Worth mentioning here is that state-run oil marketing companies lowered the retail petrol and diesel prices across major cities of the country on Monday. The pump price of petrol was reduced by 17-20 paise per litre while diesel became cheaper by 38-40 paise. Thanks to lower taxes, the retail fuel prices in Delhi are the cheapest among all metros and most state capitals.
In Kolkata, the retail prices of petrol and diesel are Rs 73.47 a litre and Rs 67.48 a litre respectively, according to data available on Indian Oil Corporation website. Read More
