State-run oil marketing companies on Wednesday (September 11) kept the retail prices of petrol and diesel unchanged across major cities of the country. In national capital Delhi, a litre of petrol today costs Rs 71.76 while diesel costs Rs 65.14 per litre, no change compared with Tuesday’s price.
It is worth noting that the retail prices of petrol and diesel are the cheapest Delhi among all metros and most state capitals due to lower taxes. On Tuesday, petrol prices were hiked by 5 paise across while diesel prices were raised by 5-6 paise across four metro cities.
In Mumbai, people have to shell out Rs 77.45 for a litre of petrol while diesel costs Rs 68.32 per litre, as per data available with Indian Oil Corp website. Read more
