State-run oil marketing companies on Tuesday (July 16) kept the retail prices of petrol and diesel static across major cities of the country. In national capital Delhi, a litre of petrol today costs Rs 73.21 a litre while diesel costs Rs 66.24 per litre, no change compared with yesterday’s price.
On Monday, petrol prices rose by 13-17 paise while diesel prices remain stagnant across the country. It is worth noting that due to lower taxes in Delhi, fuel prices are the cheapest in the Capital among all metros and most state capitals.
In Kolkata, citizens have to pay Rs 75.55 for a litre of petrol while diesel costs Rs 68.31 per litre, as per data available with Indian Oil Corp website. Similarly, in Chennai, petrol and diesel are selling for Rs 76.03 a litre and Rs 69.96 per litre respectively, no change in rates against Monday’s rates. Read More
