Petrol and diesel prices on Monday (January 14) were hiked steeply by major oil PSUs as global crude oil prices continued to maintain positive momentum despite marginal losses.
While today’s price revision was lower than yesterday, petrol prices have increased by 38 paise while diesel rates have gone up 49-52 paise. In Delhi, a litre of petrol now costs Rs 70.13 per litre compared to Rs 69.75 recorded yesterday.On the other hand, diesel price has increased to Rs 64.18 per litre after a 49 paise hike.
In Mumbai, petrol price has jumped to Rs 75.77 per litre and diesel price has also crossed Rs 67 per litre after it was increased by 52 paise today. Petrol prices have been increased by almost Rs 1 since yesterday, while diesel rates have been hiked by over Rs 1.
