Petrol prices were slashed by 8 paise today after the rates were unchanged for the last two days. Petrol will now cost Rs 76.35 a litre in Delhi, down from Rs 76.43, showed the data on Indian Oil’s website.
Similarily, petrol will cost Rs 70.40 in Kolkata, Rs 72.24 in Mumbai, Rs 71.62 in Chennai and between Rs 97.91 and Rs 68.97 across National Capital Region.
There were no change in diesel prices as it remains steady at Rs 67.85 per litre in the national capital. A litre of diesel will cost Rs 70.40 in Kolkata, Rs 72.24 in Mumbai and Rs 71.62 in Chennai. The petrol prices have witnessed a fall of around Rs 2 per litre in last 14 days.
This drop of around Rs 2 a litre in the cost of petrol contrasts the rise of nearly Rs 4 per litre during May 14-29 when the prices of the fuel reached record levels in most of the major cities. Read More
