The common man of Madhya Pradesh pays much more for energy consumption than in several states of the country. Despite this, discoms have again demanded a tariff hike of 12%.
Sample this: If you use two ACs (5-star), a couple of fans, an LED TV and five LED bulbs, or consume about 425 units per month, you are required to pay at least Rs 3,350 per month in Madhya Pradesh. But for the same consumption in neighbouring Chhattisgarh, you only need to pay Rs 1,947, Rs 1,930 in Gujarat and Rs 2,137 in Delhi. This is as per the analysis of the tariff orders issued by the regulators of the concerning states by TOI.
Adding more to the misery of the already burdened consumers, discoms in Madhya Pradesh have sought a tariff hike of 12% for this financial year. If the regulator allows it, then the bills for the same consumption will further go up by at least Rs 400 per month. Read More
