The UHBVN has disconnected power supply to 1,790 consumers for non-payment of electricity bills. Sources said the process to recover Rs 50 crore dues by March 31 was under way in Kurukshetra.
Various government departments in the district owe Rs 13 crore to the UHBVN.
The power utility has recovered Rs 83.86 lakh from 862 consumers since March 1.
The Public Health Department owes Rs 3.67 crore whereas the municipalities of Thanesar, Shahabad Markanda, Pehowa and Ladwa have outstanding electricity dues of Rs 7.86 crore. The Irrigation Department is yet clear pending dues worth Rs 23 lakh. Read More…
