West Central Railway (WCR) bagged 2017-18 Comprehensive Health Care Shield and Safety Shield in the Rail Week National Award Ceremony 2018 at the hands of Union Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal in a function held at Bhopal.
The two shields were presented by the Union Railway Minster, Piyush Goyal to WCR General Manager, Girish Pillai. While receiving the Comprehensive Health Care Shield, Principal Chief Medical Director, Dr H K Shrivastava was present and Chief Safety Commissioner (CSC), R K Malik was present while receiving the Safety Shield.
On the directions of WCR General Manager, Girish Pillai, the WCR has attained remarkable success. Amongst 17 zones, a total 12 shields were bestowed on outstanding performance at Zonal level. In this, WCR bagged two shields, registering remarkable success following quality working and support of employees. Under the direction of General Manager, Pillai, the Railway Security Department has ensured security of passengers and their valuables in stations and in running trains too. While the Medical Department has provided quality medical facilities for Railway employees and their family members. Along with this, two WCR officials, Manish Gupta, Senior Divisional Engineer, Kota was honoured for bringing changes in new GPS system and Rahul Jaipuria, Divisional Engineer Jabalpur with Rail Renovation and Restoration Work was honoured with personal award for outstanding execution of works.
