The Ministry of Railways has accepted the recommendation of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to open up a halt station at Naina Batpora in Pulwama district on the Baramulla-Banihal rail line, an official spokesman said on Wednesday evening.
He said this information was given by Minister for Railways & Coal Piyush Goyal, he said.
“I am delighted to inform you that all the above-mentioned halt stations have been approved on passenger amenity ground,” Mr Goyal said in a communication to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
He said with this all six halt points on the Baramulla-Banihal Rail line, as recommended by the Chief Minister for the convenience of general public of the respective areas, have been ordered to be established.
Ms Mufti, had requested opening of halt stations at Sangadan, Furrah-Monghal, Ratnipora, Nadigam, Razwan and Naina Batpora on the Baramulla-Banihal rail line for the convenience of a large chunk of population. UNI BAS Ae 1913 Read More
