As per the directives of Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Shri Piyush Goyal, Western Railway has made special arrangements for supply of milk into Mumbai from Gujarat. Milk being an essential commodity, and to counter the short supply due to the ongoing agitation called by the farmer’s organization, special provisions has been made to transport the same via railways into Mumbai.
According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, milk tankers are being attached to Train No 59440 Ahmedabad- Mumbai Central Passenger, to mitigate the problems faced by Mumbaikars.
Gujarat Dairy Development Corporation Limited requested Western Railway to make provision for transportation of additional milk supply through trains during this crisis, and WR immediately made arrangements for the same. Read More
