After seeking a legal opinion from law department on termination of Jose-Supreme joint venture (JV) contract and appoint the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for construction of 47km Ring Road project, two state ministers met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Wednesday.
According to sources, urban development and housing (UDH) minister Shrichand Kriplani and public works department (PWD) minister Yunus Khan flown to New Delhi seeking assistance from the Centre to appoint NHAI for construction of ring road.
“The advocate general (AG) has suggested termination of the contract after providing it the expenditure spent by the firms. The decision has to be taken regarding payment of expenditures. So far, NHAI has refused to make any investment on this project. These things will be discussed by the Union minister,” said an official source. Read More…
