Construction major Ahluwalia Contracts said it has won a Rs 539 cr order from the government of India-controlled NBCC for the redevelopment of the iconic Charbagh Railway station in Lucknow.
With this, said the company, the total inflow of orders in the seven months of this year has been Rs 2,575 cr. Further details, such as the extent of redevelopment and the time-table, were not shared.
The Charbagh railway station, also known as Lucknow railway station, is one of the two main stations in the city and is considered one of the most beautiful in India. The station is an icon of the capital city of Uttar Pradesh and was constructed in 1926 in the British era.
It uses domes and minars of Mughal architectural design to harmonise with the architecture style of the historical buildings to the city. Besides Mughal architecture, it also has elements of Rajput and Awadhi styles, and has an overall palatial appearance. Read More
