Giving a big of relief to citizens, the APSRTC Tirupati Depot is plying city bus services between Tirupati and Chandragiri via Gandhi road. There was a demand from people for plying a city bus through Gandhi road to railway station and bus station. In the wake of restrictions imposed by the police on the entry of seven-seater autos into city limits, people were facing many difficulties with no public transport between Tirupati and Chandragiri.
APSRTC had sought permission from Traffic police to operate city services through Gandhi Road. After getting their nod, the RTC was operating services in the last three days.
APSRTC Tirupati–1 depot has allotted four SML buses to run through the narrow curves in the city. These four buses are making 44 tripsbetween Tirupati and Chandragiri in both up and return directions. The services will start from APSRTC Central Bus Station and proceed towards Railway Station, Karnal Street, Prakasam Road, Balaji Colony, Thummalagunta cross, Cherlopalli, Kalur Cross, Tondavada to reach Chandragiri. In return direction, from Prakasam Road it will go via Gandhi road, G Car Street, TP Area and will reach Bus Station. The minimum fare was fixed at Rs10 and the maximum at Rs20. Read More…
