All States and Union Territories of the Country are required to complete household electrification in their respective jurisdiction by 31stMarch, 2019.
The launch ceremony was held in the august presence of Shri Paras Chandra Jain, Minister, Energy and New & Renewable Energy, Madhya Pradesh, Shri Narottam Mishra, Minister, Water Resources, Madhya Pradesh, Rajendra Shukla, Minister, Commerce & Industry, Madhya Pradesh, A. K. Verma, Joint Secretary (Distribution) MoP, J. N. Swain Joint Secretary (MNRE) MoPand other senior officers representing the Ministry of Power and the State Government.
Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC) a “NavaratnaCPSE” under the Ministry of Power has been appointed as the nodal agency for coordinating the implementation of the scheme. The prospective beneficiary households for free electricity connections under the scheme will be identified using Socio Economic and CasteCensus (SECC), 2011 data.
