Schneider Electric, a specialist in energy management and automation, is plugging into India play in a big way as it sees the electrification and digital space of the country offering plenty of opportunities.
At the same time, it feels that there is a need to do a lot more. This comes at a time when the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making a strong push for Digital India. “I see a lot of potential in India in terms of both electrification and in terms of digitalisation… I just think that we need to do more,” Schneider Electric Chairman and CEO Jean-Pascal Tricoire said while interacting with reporters here. “But… somewhere the chance is to write the page new without going through all the steps of evolution which happen in more mature countries — (that is) to go straight into the new system or systems which are natively connected, systems which are natively greener or easier to operate with less energy,” Tricoire said.
