Six firms allocated the work of solar fencing have been issued notices for unsatisfactory work, agriculture minister Ram Lal Markanda has told the House on Friday. He said that in the lower and plain areas of the state, government is providing 50% subsidy on chain fencing and they would consider increasing subsidy if the farmers demanded so.
He said that in lower areas of state provision has made for chain fencing up to four feet and solar fencing above that. On solar fencing 80% subsidy was being given and for community-based solar fencing 85% subsidy was being given, he added.
The minister was replying to a question from BJP Nurpur MLA Rakesh Pathania. The MLA said that 90% cases of installing solar fencing were pending. He had also sought information about the companies empanelled to install solar fencing in the state. Read More
