For the first time in India, the price of solar energy is lower than the price of thermal or nuclear energy. This is good news, but not yet for us consumers or Indian solar equipment manufacturers.
This is because solar energy constitutes a minuscule 3 percent of our total energy needs. About 85 percent of our energy needs are still met by non-renewable energy means like coal, hydro, nuclear, gas and diesel. It will be long before consumers see cheaper electricity bills. Read More…
