Solar policies, subsidies and other incentives for the installation of rooftop solar systems in Manipur

Manipur is a part of the “seven sister states” in the north-eastern region of India. In terms of geographical conditions, the state is quite adept of harnessing solar energy and sees around 280 to 300 sunny days in a year with 8 to 10 hours of sunlight each day.

A target to achieve 105 MW grid-connected solar power by 2022 has been set for the state by MNRE. Hence, to encourage the installation of solar systems in the state, different policies, incentives and subsidies have been laid down by the government. Here are some further details of the same:
