Suzlon Group is to supply 24 turbines to Saudi developer Alfanar Group for a 50.4MW wind farm in India.
The Indian manufacturer will deliver 90-metre S111 2.1MW hardware to the project, which will be completed by March 2018.
Suzlon will develop the project on a turnkey basis and will also provide operation and maintenance services.
Alfanar Energy, a subsidiary of the Alfanar Group, is planning to develop wind, solar and biomass projects totalling 2.2GW in India, the Middle East and Africa over the next five years.
Alfanar Energy development general manager Wasim Mallouhi said: “This is our maiden project in the Indian renewable sector and we are happy to work with Suzlon, who are the pioneers of wind technology in the country, besides their project execution capabilities made Alfanar select them for this project.”
