The Centre on Wednesday informed the Supreme Court that construction work of the 135-km long Eastern Peripheral Expressway, which would help decongest Delhi traffic, was complete. The Eastern Peripheral Expressway envisages signal-free connectivity between Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gautam Budh Nagar (Greater Noida) and Palwal.
China today opened a 409-km new expressway costing about $5.8 billion linking Tibet’s provincial capital Lhasa with Nyingchi, which is close to Arunachal Pradesh border.
The Delhi-Jaipur express highway would be built at a cost of Rs 18,000 crore, Union Road Minister Nitin Gadkari said today. The advanced cement-concrete 225-km express highway will be the second in the country after Mumbai-Pune express highway and will pave the way for reaching Delhi from Jaipur in just one-and-a-half hour at 125 km/hour speed, the minister said after laying the foundation of road construction works in Dausa district today.
Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal expressway was launched in May, started off with construction work from the second week of April last year with the deadline of 400 days fixed by the Centre.
