Haryana will soon have the widest and shortest National Highway (NH) in the world with 16 lanes on a 3-km stretch, state public works (buildings and roads) minister Rao Narbir Singh said on Saturday.
The government today approved Rs 6,721-crore projects in Meghalaya and Mizoram for development of 403 kms of National Highways. “The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval for development of 403 kms of National Highways in Meghalaya and Mizoram,” a statement from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said after the CCEA meeting.
The target of construction of National Highways is 15,000 km, of which 6,604 km have been completed till Feb in the current financial year 2016-17, the Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Pon. Radhakrishnan said in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
