Expressing optimism about job growth in the renewable energy sector, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) has said that India is set to create over 3 lakh new jobs in the wind and solar energy sector by 2022, Financial Express has reported.
Raising hopes of a future where sustainable energy would replace other sources of power, solar energy generation in the state has registered tremendous growth in the past couple of years.
The government today said it is keen to share the latest technology in renewable energy with Africa to power the remotest and poorest corners of the second largest continent.
Indian wind energy sector witnessed a record installation of 5,400 MW in FY17, registering a 60 per cent growth as against 3,400 MW in FY16. With this addition, the total installation of wind moved from 27 GW to 32 GW.
