Tamil Nadu Solar Energy Policy will be released in a week’s time, said energy secretary Md Nasimuddin on Thursday. Participating in a debate held as part of the Global Investors Meet here, Nasimuddin said the state was planning to generate 8,884 MW solar power by 2022.
The joint electricity regulatory commission (JERC) has instructed the Goa electricity department to provide required assistance to consumers interested in generating solar power in the state.
Andhra Pradesh has come up with a new solar with the aim to promote widespread usage of solar power and targets a minimum total solar power capacity addition of 5,000 MW in the next five years in the state.
The amended solar policy will be notified by the end of November, the electricity department stated at the public hearing held by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) on Tuesday.

The state cabinet on Wednesday granted its approval to the implementation of the Goa State Solar Policy, 2017, to facilitate generation of solar power in the state.
