Private companies who have sold power to Tangedco are an aggrieved lot. They have been unable to get their payments with the committed three month, the cash-strapped state power utility taking 6-8 months to pay suppliers for thermal units and at least 17 months for wind power companies.
At a recent meeting convened by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), where discoms from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and other big states participated, Tangedco expressed its inability and said it would take some more time.
