The Minister for Power, G Jagadish Reddy, said on Saturday that the State will make significant savings in the energy sector by augmenting its power generation and availing a concessional interest on its borrowings.
In an interview to Telangana Today, he said that the State would add 3,000 MW in 2018 to the installed capacity of power generation units, the biggest-ever addition in a single year, which would save on purchasing power to meet energy needs.
Impressed by the performance of the State in the power sector, the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) and the Power Finance corporation (PFC) have lowered the interest rate on their lending to the power utilities from 11.5 per cent to 9.65 per cent. Read More…
