The railway service of Agartala (India) and Akhaura (Bangladesh) is expected to begin from 2019.
Laying of tracks for the 15.054-kilometer Indo-Bangla railway project would start from December and the entire process is expected to be completed by December next year, informed a senior official from Transport Department.
The decisions were taken in a meeting of steering committee attended by representatives from both India and Bangladesh in Dhaka recently.
Land acquisition on both India (67 acres) and Bangladesh (60 acres) sides has already started. Read More…
