Railway Passengers in Uttar Pradesh (UP) will now be able to avail help by just dialling 100 from their mobile phones, as reported by All India Radio. This one-stop solution will allow citizens to contact police, fire brigade and Government Railway Police through a single number.
This service, launched by Director General of Police (DGP), OP Singh in Lucknow on Thursday (16 November), can be used during any casualty. He said that it is the first time GRP services have been integrated with the UP police.
In order to provide improved ease-of-access and quick provision of services, passengers can access emergency services also through social media platforms, mobile App, website and SMS.
Also, under the unified platform, the location of the passengers can be quickly ascertained that will help reduce delays in sending help. Read More
