After a long summer of constant power outages, the winter could be a little better with 41 underground feeders going live within two months.
“We face more than four to five hours of power outage during summer. We are still witnessing power cuts and power fluctuations every now and then,” said Chirag Saini, a resident of Sector 31. His area, along with seven others – 21, 22, 23, 23A, 30, 32 and 40 – can expect a more consistent power supply once the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) takes the feeders live.
“Phase I of our project is almost complete. By the end of the year, we will be able to put load on these feeders completely,” said a senior DHBVN official who is in charge of the smart grid project, adding, “Right now, we are trying to identify any faults in the system.
Once we are ready, we will transfer load completely to the feeders. We will dismantle all overhead wires in the areas where underground feeders will be activated in the next six months.” Read More
