Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday dedicated city’s first diesel converted CNG bus to the citizens of Nagpur. On the occasion, mayor Nanda Jichkar announced similar conversion of her official diesel car into CNG.
As per Gadkari’s appeal, Jichkar said soon all diesel vehicles will be converted into CNG. In the first phase, NMC will convert 50 more diesel run standard buses into CNG.
Rawmatt Industries Private Limited has converted the diesel bus into CNG. Transport committee chairman of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Bunty Kukde said the firm has borne the expenditure of installing CNG kits costing Rs 3.25 lakh.
“The firm will be recovering the amount from the operators by charging Rs 5 extra for every kilogram of gas. The cost of CNG will be Rs 60 per kg,” he said. Read More
