During the Crawfed meet, director of department of environment and chief conservator of forests Debendra Dalai said that Chandigarh Renewal Energy, Science and Technology Promotion Society (Crest) would propose provision of installation of solar plants at residential societies.
“On the request of residents, the department has already extended the last date of installation of solar plants. “The new deadline of June 30 will not be extended further, therefore the residents should start installing plants as per their power requirements,” Dalai said.
At the meeting, residents said the authorities were not allowing societies to install solar plants on rooftops of buildings. Dalai assured that the request would be acknowledged. Read More
