With the buzz of development and security, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a host of mega projects during his flying visit to the winter capital on Saturday, according to official sources here. Security has been stepped up in the winter capital ahead of VVIP Movement and the venues have been seized by the teams of Special Protection Group (SPG) taking care of Prime Minister’s Security.
Patrols are being conducted by the Central Reserve Police Force and Border Security Force as Pakistan is firing heavily along the borders in Jammu and Samba districts. So far, a BSF jawan has been martyred and five civilians were killed in the firing.
Army choppers are also maintaining day and night vigil in the region. The Prime Minister will also honour scholars at the Sixth Convocation of Sher-e-Kashmir ARgricultural University for Science and Technology, Jammu.
The foundation of Jammu Ring Road is among the major projects to be launched formally by the Prime Minister.
The executing agency of the project is the National Highways Authority of India, the sources said, adding the 58.25 km long road project would be constructed between Rayamorh-Vijaypur in Samba district to Jagti-Nagrota in Jammu district. Read More…
