India’s first engine-less train, Train 18 successfully completed the speed trial on tracks at Moradabad-Bareilly section on Tuesday, stated Piyush Goyal, Indian Minister of Railways and Coal, in his Twitter handle.
The minister tweeted a video of the successful operation with a tweet that read: “The speed trial of the revolutionary Train 18 was conducted successfully on the Moradabad-Bareilly route, inching one step closer to full operationality. The train’s introduction is a significant step towards modernisation of Railways.”
According to Railways, the train was made to run at three different speeds of 30 kilometers per hour (Km/hr), 50 Km/hr and 60 Km/hr respectively. The maximum speed of the “Train 18” is 220 Km/hr. Watch here
