Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced that all rural water supply schemes will be supplied solar energy so that Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) doesn’t disconnect them for non-payment of power bills.
Fadnavis praised energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule for introducing the scheme for supplying solar power to water supply schemes.
Addressing the e-inauguration of 111 water supply schemes in divisional commissioner’s office, the CM said BJP-Shiv Sena government had sanctioned 20,000 rural water supply schemes and completed 8,000 ones sanctioned during the previous regime. “We have also sanctioned 10,000 more schemes,” he said.
Bawankule, water supply minister Babanrao Lonikar, additional chief secretary (water supply) Shyamlal Goyal, divisional commissioner Sanjeev Kumar and others were present at the function. Read More
