In a bid to ensure safe commute for women passengers, the Western Railways have taken into consideration feedback from around 400 women who use the local trains on a daily basis.
The senior officials of Western Railways are currently spending an hour everyday to speak to women commuters. The prime concern among the women commuters is safety and comfort.
Several women commuters raised the issue of hawkers getting into female compartment. Some of the commuters even spoke about drug addicts and delinquents boarding the women’s compartment during afternoon and night. Read More
