Western Railway is becoming habitual of maximising productivity during the special blocks. In a record time of 6 hours, the Mumbai Central division of Western Railway, completed the girder launch of the second and the last span (28 meters) of the Foot Over Bridge placed at Elphinstone Road Station. This block was taken from 23.00 hrs on Saturday, 7th April, 2018 to 4.58 hrs on Sunday, 8th April, 2018 for the work and it was completed well within time.
According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar, Chief Public Relations Officer of W.Rly, the remaining work of the FOB, i.e., completion of deck slab & cross bracing, covering of the Foot Over Bridge, outside stairs, platform extension etc. started from 9th April, 2018. This also includes the construction of a new Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) building and shifting the existing RRI to a new place. Read More
