Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday assured to Punjab Public Works Department (PWD) of accelerating the process of construction of 25 railway overbridges (ROBs) and 14 railway underbridges (RUBs).
As per sources, Punjab PWD Minister Vijay Inder Singla has formed a special committee under his supervision. The committee have identified 39 locations on various roads in the state where residents are facing problems due ever-rising traffic.
The department does not need any land acquisition nor it has been facing any litigation over the ownership of land on these locations and department could quickly start construction of ROBs and RUBs on these 39 points if the Centre includes these locations in the Centre-state sharing projects.
