Unnat Jyoti Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme of the central government implemented by the Chandigarh administration is turning out to be a power-saver.
Under the scheme, which was launched on March 6 by local MP Kirron Kher, consumers can buy 4 LED bulbs (9watt), 2 LED tubes (20watt) and 1fan (50watt) at 23 sampark centres.
A total of 2.20 lakh bulbs, 32,385 tubelights and 11,213 fans have been distributed among the consumers at subsidised rates till June 17. Read more
