On its first public run, the Lucknow Metro Rail service got stuck near Alambagh station due to technical glitches, a day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off the Metro’s maiden run.
Around 500 passengers who had eagerly boarded the train panicked and were stuck for over an hour as the air conditioner and the lights inside the train went off.
The rescue team took over 20 minutes to teach the spot to check the fault, reports TOI. Officials said that the train bears some fault in its traction. Rest all trains are plying on the other parallel track.
Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, senior Ministers of the state cabinet, local legislators and Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Hardeep Puri were present for the metro services inauguration, along with Principal Advisor to the project E. Sreedharan. Read More…
